Lucerne Festival Contemporary ’22
Welcome to the career management workshops of the Lucerne Festival Contemporary 2022. I am thrilled to be here with you. As I wrote to you before, the Lucerne Festival is very special to me. Congrats to all of you that you are here!
Below you will find all material for each of my workshops. Yes, you can even sneak into material for workshops you have not signed up for. You will have access to all the information here for three months.
The workshops are:
Sunday, August 28th, 2022, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm – Career Management: After studying all your life, the question is not if you are a little bit better than others but what differentiates you from other musicians and what makes you unique. In the Career Management Workshop, we will use visualization to see where you want to be in the future. We will then bring that back to today so that you understand what steps you need to take. We will also talk about the concept of Lovemarks – an idea to explore what makes you unique.
Monday, August 29th, 2022, 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm – Marketing: Often, marketing is mistaken for advertising. But advertising is just one part of marketing. We will discuss different marketing concepts and how they apply to your career and future. We will discuss involving fans more strongly and keeping promoters and presenters informed.
Wednesday, August 30th, 2022, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm – Sales: Many musicians were told their whole life that they need to practice more than everything will be fine. Well, you have practiced. Now it is time to share your talent with the world. That involves selling your projects. We will talk about core selling techniques and how to apply them. We will also talk about setting and negotiating your fee.
Thursday, August 31st, 2022, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm – Money: Often, one assumes that we do not discuss money in the arts. But, then again, you read about the enormous prices paintings are bought for. Money not only pays your bills, but it also allows you more freedom. We will talk about planning your financial future, understanding different expense categories, and thinking about various sources of income you might not even have heard of.
